Yup, I’ve confirmed it. If I leave my iPod Touch plugged into my USB hub while my computer is rebooting, it messes up the BIOS, specifically when it tries to initialize the motherboard’s USB controller. (jG7JE9J6ZH)
I’m using an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU overclocked from 2.39 to 3.15gHz and a D-Link DUB-H4 self-powered USB 2.0 hub. The PC operates very reliably with the CPU being kept at a near constant 26°C thanks to the ChillTEC thermo-electric CPU cooler.
If I leave the iPod plugged in while in sleep mode, the PC fails to boot, requiring a hard reset and a reconfiguration of my overclock settings.
